Problem Description
When I submit a rendition for processing using iCS for PDF, the job appears to complete but no pdf is generated. If I click on the "Details" tab prior to the job completing in iCS Admin, the following error message appears:
“Failed – The following error occurred on XXXX
“Unable to create Projectwise document “ xxxxxxxxx.pdf” in “pw://….xxxxxx”
“Error creating new document”
“Detail: File name is too long.
“Projectwise error ID 58258”
Steps to Resolve
- Open PW Admin and navigate to the "Renditions" node
- Choose the "Renditions Profile Components/Output File Naming Conventions" entry
- Right-click Properties on the Output File Naming Convention being used for the iCS job
- Reduce the number of "Symbols" added to the "File Name Pattern"
Note: If this field contains muliple symbols, it could extend the pdf name longer than iCS is able to generate.
