Opening excel spreadsheet from ProjectWise, getting book1 and intended file

Problem:

• When opening an excel spreadsheet from ProjectWise, user is getting a blank book1, as well as the intended file.

Product(s) and Version(s):

• ProjectWise Explorer
• Microsoft Office (Excel)

Steps to Reproduce

• In ProjectWise Explorer, open an excel file
• Excel launches and opens a blank book1.xlsx and then opens the intended file
• Close book1, and you are prompted to save changes to book1.

Solution:

• There was a recent security\policy push to the client machines.
• This was found to be related to the Microsoft Sensitivity Labeling feature in Microsoft Office.

• If possible, Remove the policy from the users account.

Workaround

In most cases if you click cancel to the prompt for book1, then your original file will open with both the Microsoft sensitivity and Attribute exchange integration will function.

Note: Development was made aware of this issue.  However, Bentley is not able to reproduce the issue.  Best suggestion is to check security\user policies to see which one is causing the issue and make the needed adjustments or use the workaround.
