Problem Description
When attempting to run a scheduled job in iCS for PDF, the following error appears when processing a certain document:
“Failed – Error 55040 …
Unable to create Projectwise document ‘document_name.pdf’ in pw://server.com:datasource/documents/ …”
Error creating new document
Cannot write document file to server; file already exists"
Steps to Resolve
- Open PW Administrator
- Navigate to the 'Storage' node
- Note the path to the location of storage area being used for datasource
- Navigate to the storage location and locate file in question in sub 'dms' folder used by PW
- Rename or delete file
- Run job again; it should complete successfully now
